Mt. Kenya Talents Development Centre (MKTDC) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to identifying and developing athletic talent from grassroots communities across Kenya. Founded in 1998 by Olympic gold medalist John Ngugi, our mission is to provide world-class training, mentorship, and opportunity to young athletes who dream of competing on the global stage.

Samuel Wanjiru
From the highlands of Kenya to Olympic glory. Samuel Wanjiru, who trained at MKTDC in his formative years, became the first Kenyan to win an Olympic marathon gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, shattering the Olympic record in the process.
